Our first night in London we rode the London Eye . . .

On New Years, we did experiments to fulfill the Lab-Based Science requirement.

We shot lots of water-rockets, until we were ran off because of insurance worries.

One of our experiments involved popping balloons. Can you find Merri? She wasn't fond of loud noises (she is taking the picture!)  Also, if you look real hard, you might see the illustrious director of the London programs!

During the group trip to Oxford, we visited the Museum of the History of Science. The blackboard behind those smiling faces has some of Einstein's writing about the general theory of relativity.

Next we journeyed to Greenwich and visited The Cutty Sark and the Royal Observatory. This is the boat ride down the river Thames. We all think that Josh blinked in the first picture.

On the Cutty Sark! Can you find Lori?

Here we are at the prime meridian, the whole class is in two hemispheres for this picture!

Road trip!  Next was possibly the highlight of the trip. We all got up and left the study center at 6:00 AM and journeyed to Stonehenge. We were able to make special arrangements and go into the stones! Wow!

Next to Old Waurdour Castle. Very Nice!

We ended the day at Bath. Dr. Tompkins doesn't look very roman in this picture does he? Look at those happy faces in the van on the way back to London.

The British Science Museum.

Not a lot of science, but the Tower of London was Way Cool!

A possible star? We toured the BBC broadcasting studios.

We attended a funny play called "The Alchemist." This was about three con artists that used pseudoscience to steal money.

St Paul's Cathedral, is a real feat of engineering. We all took the steps to the top. The third picture is the new Millennium Foot Bridge. It cannot be used because of a bad design. They should have viewed the Seattle-Tacoma Narrows bridge videos!

We finished up with lunch at the Sherlock Holmes Pub.

God's Speed! to everybody!

Dr. Tompkins

Next Trip? January 2004?
